So, I was searching online on the typical prices for home demolition and site preparation in Northern Virginia. With a limited amount of inventory available, a viable alternative for many homebuyers is to purchase a cheap home in a good location and tear it down. An area like e.g. Pimmit Hills has seen prices jump considerably over the last year as a result. Builders like NV homes increased their prices due to the high demand (probably officially due to higher raw material prices or fuel prices or something like that.)
Regardless, while looking around I found this great great video on commercial demolition. It is amazing how they manage to blow up huge structures in the middle of other structures and leave everything else untouched.
