The Northern Virginia area has great schools. While there are differences between schools, a quality education is generally within reach of anyone. Niche, a school data site, recently released a list of the 100 best public high schools in the US. The list has schools from all over the country – from Northern Virginia we have one in the top 25.
Thomas Jefferson High School for Science and Technology in Alexandria was rated #7 in the country based on its academics, diversity, teachers and facilities (the high school in the picture above is not Thomas Jefferson.) Thomas Jefferson (TJ) is a magnet school that pulls in students from the surrounding areas. If you otherwise qualify, to attend TJ your grades will have to be excellent and you will have to take the TJ Admissions Test (They have a 60 page booklet on the test )
If you do manage to get in the commute may be one of your bigger challenges.
