2018 is here and the real estate market in Tysons Corner Virginia is gearing up to be another great year. January, February and March are again ramping up with new listings for the spring market in the Tysons Corner area (zip codes 22102 and 22182.)
The spring market, while slow in February, was more than ready to absorb all the listings coming on the market with very strong sales in March. The number of homes closing in March was an 74 for the 22102/22182 zipcodes (the 5 year average is usually in the mid 40’s.)
So, how is the market in Tysons Corner, Mclean and Vienna? It looks to be doing great. Reasonably priced homes in the area sell quickly at great prices. Prices are pretty stable. For condominiums prices are still below their peak (not back to 2005 levels yet in most places) and buyers are taking advantage of that.
Anecdotally there seems to still be investor buyers (many with cash.) I can only speculate that people are cashing out their stocks, BitCoins or moving money from abroad to the United States. Regardless – despite interest rate hikes there is still a healthy supply of confident buyers looking for homes.
