Located just down the street from Tysons Corner mall, Gates of Mclean is a community I have been active in for many years. Gates of Mclean is a medium sized condominium community squeezed in between I-495, Chain Bridge Road and the Capital One campus. Gates of Mclean was built back in 1997 as an apartment complex, the first Capital One building was built a few years later, and the community was converted to condominiums in the optimistic real estate market around 2004. Like everywhere else at the time, units sold quickly and at ever increasing prices.

Since those early days, recent years have seen optimism and popularity grow in tandem with the completion of the Mclean metro down the street and development of the Capital One campus across the street. Among the great new amenities – a Starbucks and a Wegmans!

The Gates of Mclean is a well-run community. The condominium association and onsite management office both navigated the construction challenges adjacent and inside the community well. The front of the community had to be reworked due to the Capital One campus constructions  due to the Scotts Crossing connector construction. The end the front of the community looks better than ever with new entry gates, electric vehicle chargers and glass barriers against Scott Crossing.

The location is fantastic and you can use the metro every day as it is within easy walking distance. Across the street are the before mentioned Wegmans and Starbucks. If you use a car, getting to the major roadways is a breeze – and the Scotts Crossing Connector gives you a great shortcut right into the heart of Tysons Corner.

We currently have a great 1 bedroom home for sale in the community. It is a 735 square foot unit in one of the controlled access buildings. It is on the ground floor for quick entry and exit out of the building. The unit has great laminate flooring, new paint and other updates throughout.
